About the Label
We're a Los Angeles independent label built by people who have spent their careers on every side of the music business — and who still believe that great records are worth fighting for.
Our Story
Sunset Boulevard Records launched in 2016, but the story starts much earlier than that.
The people behind this label have worked in A&R, distribution, promotion, and production — at majors and independents, in New York and San Francisco and Los Angeles, across decades that stretched from the punk underground to the streaming era. We've signed artists, worked records, built distribution pipelines, and sat across the table from every kind of deal you can imagine.
What we kept noticing, through all of it, was the music that was slipping through the cracks. Catalogs sitting fallow. Masters sitting in storage. Recordings that deserved a proper home — new mastering, real liner notes, distribution that actually worked — but didn't have one.
What We Do
We release music. New records from active artists. First recordings in years from artists who have been away. Reissues of catalog that deserves to be heard again, properly presented and available everywhere.
Every release we put out gets new mastering and original curatorial liner notes, because we think the story behind a record matters as much as the record itself. We distribute physically and digitally worldwide.
We're based in Los Angeles, which is not incidental. This city has always been where the music business and the music itself exist in the same room. We like being close to both.
Working With Us
We make flexible deals because the music business in 2026 doesn't fit one template.
If you've recorded an album and need a real label behind it — distribution, promotion, marketing support — we can do that. If you want to build something from scratch with a partner who knows how to work a record, we can do that too. We're not interested in deals that don't make sense for the artist, because those deals don't make sense for us either.
We also work with rights holders, estates, and owners of dormant catalogs who want their recordings treated with care. If you're sitting on something that deserves better than where it is, we'd like to talk.
The Catalog
Since 2016 we've built a catalog spanning rock, blues, country, soul, gospel, jazz, punk, Americana, R&B and beyond — presented the way it was meant to be heard.

If you're an artist, a manager, an estate, or just someone with a question — we'd like to hear from you.
